J. Adams & Co News 2026
J. Adams & Co introduces two new collections in 2026, each placing material at the centre of the design conversation. To mark the release, Gerda Zemblyte, Sales Director, travelled from London to host our Meet the Makers series, connecting with the LightCo design community through intimate studio visits and in-showroom presentations across Sydney and Melbourne.
Gerda's visit served as a reminder of what defines the brand. Every J. Adams & Co light begins as an exploration of form in their London studio before being crafted by hand in their Birmingham workshop, a facility with over fifty years of metalworking heritage. The two new releases, Flume in Alabaster and the Luna Capiz collection, carry that philosophy forward, each asking what happens when signature form meets material with a unique story of its own.
Flume Collection
The Flume collection has always been defined by its clean, architectural presence, a mid-century and Art Deco-informed silhouette of machined brass and precision-cut reeded glass that plays with verticality and light refraction. In Alabaster, that precision is met with something quieter. The natural variation of stone softens the fixture's geometry, producing a diffused, ambient glow that shifts with the density of the material. It works equally well over a kitchen island, in a bathroom, or as a considered accent in a dining space.
Available in Antique Brass, Bronze, Satin Brass, and Satin Nickel, each finish draws out a different quality in the stone, making finish selection as much a part of the design decision as scale or placement. No two pieces will be identical, and that is the point.
Luna Collection
Luna is reimagined in Capiz shell, developed with material specialists Nature Squared. The Luna shade is hand-spun by a master spinner using traditional techniques, a flat metal disc moulded over a lathe with precise pressure to achieve the fixture's defining curve. That same attention to process carries through to the shell finish: Capiz responsibly sourced as a by-product of food harvesting by small-scale Filipino fisherfolk, hand-applied and hand-finished, with offcuts repurposed in keeping with Nature Squared's circular ethos. Each design is limited to 25 pieces, available as pendants, wall lights, and a table lamp in Antique Brass or Bronze.
J. Adams & Co has always maintained that true elegance arises from exceptional making. The mark of a craftsperson's hand is not a flaw to be corrected but a quality to be preserved. Both releases affirm that position, arriving not as departures from the brand's signature but as deeper explorations of it.
